While looking for home school materials on the internet this morning, I came across the new/first/only (so far) book by David Platt. It caught my attention because one of our friends/Michael's former student (from back when he was a student pastor) is on staff with David Platt at The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, AL.
I needed to order a book on preparing college transcripts (what I went looking for to begin with), so I added the book to my order. I can't wait to get it. God's been challenging me for a while now with a lot of the things apparently talked about in the book, and I am so excited (and a little apprehensive) about reading it. (One reviewer said that when you read it you continually bounce between "ouch" and "amen".)
The more I read about it, the more interested I became in it. I also found where you can download the first chapter for free here if you're as impatient as I am or just want to see more of what it's about. Also, you can listen to David's related sermon series here, but get ready to be challenged! I listened to the first one earlier, and can't wait to listen to the others. Just go down to "Sermon Resources" and click on the chapters.
I know this isn't specifically "adoption-related" but I just wanted to share it with everyone. I think this book will be life-changing.
